1. Who we are

Bula Work is a workforce marketplace app connecting Homeowners, Contractors, Subcontractors and Workers, with escrow-backed payments, milestone tracking and bilingual chat. It is operated by BULA WORK LLC, a United States company.

2. Information we collect

• Account and profile data: name, email, phone number, profile photo, role (Homeowner, Contractor, Subcontractor, Worker), and company details where applicable.
• Location data: precise GPS location when you clock in or out of a job, used to verify hours worked.
• Financial and transaction data: wallet balance, escrow, milestones, payouts and related payment records, processed through our payment provider.
• Verification and compliance documents: for workers and contractors, identity and tax documents required by law (for example W-9/W-4-type forms) where applicable to your role.
• Content you create: portfolio photos, project posts, reviews, and messages exchanged with other users in the app.
• Device and usage data: device identifiers, push notification tokens, app version, and basic diagnostic/usage information.

3. How we use your information

• To create and operate your account and match you with relevant work or workers.
• To process payments, hold funds in escrow, and release payments on approved milestones.
• To verify worked hours through GPS check-in and to verify identity/compliance documents where required by law.
• To enable in-app messaging, including automatic translation between English and Spanish.
• To send notifications about offers, messages, payments and account activity.
• To keep the platform safe, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only: with other users as necessary for the marketplace to work (for example, your profile and portfolio are visible to potential clients or crews); with payment and escrow service providers to process transactions; with service providers who help us run the app (hosting, cloud database, analytics, translation); and when required by law or to protect our users and platform.

5. Data retention

We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the service. Financial and transaction records (escrow, milestones, payouts) and any compliance documents required by law are retained for as long as applicable financial and tax regulations require — typically up to 7 years — after which they are securely deleted.

6. Your choices and rights

You can review and update most of your profile information directly in the app. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see our Delete Account page for exact steps, or email info@bulawork.us.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, and we continuously work to improve our safeguards.

8. Children's privacy

Bula Work is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
